Making the casting process cleaner, quicker, more accurate and more recordable.
At Ability Clinic®, we have invested in the most high-tech equipment around to ensure that our patients get the most accurate custom devices in the quickest possible turnaround times.
Uniquely, we are now able to use scanners to capture shapes and produce:
- Insoles
- Orthopaedic footwear
- All orthotic bracing as well as AFOs, KAFOs and protective cranials
- Sockets for all prosthetic limbs
For the perfect fit
The Omega Scanner is the most advanced shape-capture device in the world. It is a safe laser scanning device, which, in seconds, is able to digitally capture the shape of body parts. This means that we do not need to use plaster in the vast majority of cases. This technology is now used in the Ability Clinic® for fitting the majority of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
The highly-sophisticated software then translates this into a 3D shape, which can be milled out by one of our state-of-the-art robotic arm carvers for production. The result of which is an extremely accurate cast, which can be produced quickly and then, crucially, is recorded in our system. So, if we produce a comfortable device, we can then replicate this at a touch of a button next time!
We also have digital scanners and milling machinery for capturing and producing custom-made shoes and insoles.
We will happily demonstrate the technology we have at your initial free consultation.
